Old Blacksmiths Shop - Gretna Hall Wedding Photography Gretna Green
Stacy and Daniel’s wedding was a wonderful celebration of love, family and friendship, beginning at the world-famous Old Blacksmiths Shop in Gretna Green before continuing to Gretna Hall Hotel for their reception.
Gretna Green has a fascinating history as one of the world’s most famous wedding destinations. Its romantic reputation began in 1754, when changes to English marriage laws meant couples under 21 needed parental consent to marry. Scotland had more relaxed marriage laws, allowing young couples to marry without permission. Situated just across the Scottish border, Gretna Green became a popular destination for couples determined to follow their hearts, with local blacksmiths famously conducting weddings.
The celebrations continued at Gretna Hall Hotel, providing a lovely setting for their reception.
My approach to wedding photography is relaxed, natural and unobtrusive, capturing genuine emotions and spontaneous moments rather than relying on endless posing.
